the plan is simple...choose whole, minimally processed foods, eat an abundance of vegetables, consume sustainably produced animal products, shop locally, and cook at home.
making it happen...that's where we can help.
About Us
Registered Dietitians (RDs) are food and nutrition experts who translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living. Just as all MD's are physicians, all Registered Dietitians are nutritionists. The term dietitian and nutritionist can be inter-changed. However, the word "nutritionist" is used by all sorts of nutritional experts, with widely varying levels of education and clinical experience. RDs have met rigorous academic and professional requirements, including passing an extensive national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, as well as earning continuing professional education credits throughout their careers to maintain a high level of practice.
How We Are Different
At DuPage Dietitians, we strive to avoid the influence of industry and competing non-profit and government agencies while taking the best from each including scientific research, ancient health practices, and modern medicine. We believe that nutrition therapy is a treatment approach that works well with modern medical care and with many forms of complimentary care. In some cases, nutrition therapy is a cost effective adjunct or even alternative to medication and surgical interventions for diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity. Nutrition therapy also plays a vital role in the prevention of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and many other chronic conditions which are often made worse by typical western lifestyles and the modern food environment.
